Introduction

The Department of Pharmaceutics is a place where educational standard and research activities blended together to achieve excellence in academia. Since its establishment from 2007-08, department focused on educational standard through pharmaceutical industry-oriented professional training, and promoting drug development research. Our students are placed in different pharma industries and institutes with their proven potential.

Objectives

The Post-Graduates from M.Pharm Pharmaceutics will attain adequate scientific information regarding basic principles of Pharmaceutics including Biopharmaceutics, Novel Drug Delivery System, Cosmetology, Specialized drug delivery systems etc. They will also have hands on training of practical aspects of fabrication and evaluation, Analysis and Quality assurance of various pharmaceutical formulations. A skill of logical thinking on developing a new dosage form should be developed among the post-graduate students to solve the problems, analyse it and finally to interpret data. They will demonstrate an adaptable, flexible and effective approach towards organizational development. Development of interpersonal skills such as influencing others, negotiating and working with others, conflict management and leading others through the problem-solving process.

The Post-Graduates in Pharmaceutics will acquire adequate scientific information regarding basicprinciples of Pharmaceutics including Modern Pharmaceutics, Cosmetology, Drug delivery systems, Biopharmaceutics etc.They will also have hands on training of practical aspects of Newdrug design, design of Advanced formulations, drug delivery system, kinetics of drug release and interpretation of drug release mechanism etc.

 

The Post-Graduates in Pharmaceutics will be able to design new formulations, novel drug delivery system as per the needs of global pharmaceutical industries. The knowledge of physical properties of the drug and different pharmaceutical ingredients willinfluence pharmaceutical dosage form design.

Post-Graduates in Pharmaceutics willunderstand the information on dosage forms like tablets and capsules, injectables, topical formulations etcwith their formulation and quality control which is an important perquisite for dosage form design.The knowledge of biopharmaceutics enables the students to visualize the effect of pharmacokinetic parameters on the biological effect of the drug.

 The Post-Graduates in Pharmaceutics will involve in specialized research in the core and applied areas of pharmaceutical sciences, manufacturing, analyse and modern drug-based formulations. The knowledge on different pharmaceutical dosage forms isconveyedto the students. Students will understand biopharmaceutical principles and pharmacokinetic principles through different compartment models, multiple dosage regimens, non-linear pharmacokinetics, and assessment of bioavailability and bioequivalence.
